Twitter Woes a Signal to Evaluate Your Social Media — and Overall — Marketing Strategy

Written by on March 21st, 2017 // Filed under QuickHits Blog, Uncategorized

Finding the Right Social Media Mix Isn’t a “Set It And Forget It” Job

Twitter’s ongoing problems should be a cautionary tale for all businesses and organizations that rely to any degree on social media in marketing.

Despite its place at center stage in the news cycle — thanks to what some called the “Trump bump,”— Twitter, while still a social media giant, is struggling a bit. It doesn’t pull the market share and the eyeballs that businesses rely on to get their message to the world.

In the social media battle for attention, that’s bad for Twitter and bad for those who rely too heavily — or perhaps at all — on tweets.

Twitter is lagging for a lot of reasons, but what’s important to note is that this social media platform may not be working for us or our clients the way we’d like.

And that brings us to the cautionary tale we see in Twitter’s woes.

Our approach at Allard PPC is to be pro-active when it comes to marketing, and that means social media marketing as well. We think it’s important that businesses periodically look at all their marketing efforts and make sure those efforts are delivering.

It’s critical that you choose and nurture the social platforms that work best for your business because when utilized correctly social media is an incredible resource for the promotion of your business.

And that’s what we’re doing now with our social media marketing. At Allard PPC, we recently decided Twitter is no longer a good fit for us, so we’ve ramped back our Twitter engagement, using it less to reach potential customers and clients. We’re also in the process of evaluating, as we often do, our other social media accounts to make sure what we’re using is the best mix for us.

We do the same for our clients, and encourage them, whether with us or on their own, to constantly evaluate the return on investment that different marketing efforts bring. It makes sense in the dynamic landscape og today’s marketing. This approach allows us to produce data-driven campaigns that work, and give us the numbers to show it.

Our dedication to effective strategic planning brings together thoughtful marketing that is carried out by the top people in their fields.

Call us today so we can help your business reach its full potential through well conceived strategic planning and data driven campaigns that work for you.
